1. Accepting these terms

By using tryroofd.com (the "site") you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement to use it.

2. What Roofd provides

Roofd offers free, self-service tools and information for homeowners who receive non-renewal, cancellation, repair or inspection notices about their homes, especially notices based on aerial, drone or satellite images:

We may change, pause or stop any part of the site at any time.

3. Not legal or insurance advice

Roofd is not a law firm, an insurance agency, an insurance producer or a public adjuster, and it isn't affiliated with any insurer or government agency. Everything on the site is general information and self-help drafting tools, not legal, insurance or professional advice. Using the site doesn't create an attorney-client, fiduciary, agency or adjuster relationship. We don't negotiate with your insurer, represent you before a regulator or court, or adjust claims.

If your situation is complex, a lot of money is at stake, you've had a claim denied, or you're thinking about legal action, talk to a licensed attorney or public adjuster in your state. Your state insurance department can also help, for free.

4. Accuracy of rules and guides

Insurance rules vary by state, policy and insurer, and they change often. Our summaries come from public bulletins, statutes and secondary sources, and they may be incomplete, simplified or out of date. Findings like "in your favor" are informational flags based only on the details you entered. They aren't legal conclusions or predictions. Before you rely on a rule, check the current text with your state insurance department or a professional. We don't guarantee that any rule applies to you, or that any appeal will succeed.

5. Your responsibilities

6. Appeal kit reservations

Reserving an appeal kit is free, and it's not a purchase or a contract for services. It only adds you to a list so we can contact you when the kit is available in your state. The kit's features, availability and price ($39 at the time of writing) may change before launch. If you later buy a kit, it will come with its own terms, which we'll show you before you pay. You can leave the list at any time.

Refunds. If you buy a kit and aren't satisfied, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase for a full refund, no questions asked.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

If you find a security issue, please report it to [email protected] instead of exploiting it. We appreciate good-faith reports.

8. Content and ownership

The site's design, text, guides, code and the Roofd name and logo belong to Roofd and are protected by law. You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. The letters you create with the builder are yours to use, edit and send as you wish. Quotes from news reports and public laws on the site belong to their respective owners and are used for commentary and reference.

The site links to government agencies, news outlets, Google Maps and other third parties for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND EVERYTHING ON IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY RESULT WILL BE ACHIEVED. Some states don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, ROOFD AND ITS OWNERS AND CONTRIBUTORS WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF COVERAGE, DENIED OR REDUCED CLAIMS, INCREASED PREMIUMS, MISSED DEADLINES, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR LOST PROFITS OR DATA, THAT COME FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE OR ANY DRAFT IT PRODUCES, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR $50. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

12. Indemnity

If you misuse the site or break these terms, for example by submitting false information or someone else's data, and a third party brings a claim against Roofd because of it, you agree to cover Roofd's reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.

13. Disputes

Talk to us first. If you have a problem, email [email protected] with a description and what you'd like us to do. Most issues can be resolved informally. Neither of us will start a formal claim until 30 days after that email.

Where claims go. If we can't resolve it informally, either of us may bring the dispute in a court of competent jurisdiction, or in small claims court if it qualifies.

Individual claims only. Where the law allows, you and Roofd may bring claims only individually, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding.

Time limit and governing law. Where the law allows, any claim must be brought within one year after it arises. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits rights that consumer protection laws in your state give you and that can't be waived by contract.

14. Changes and termination

We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date above, and if a change is significant we'll email people on the reservation list. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms. We may suspend access for anyone who violates these terms. Sections 3, 4 and 8 through 15 continue to apply after you stop using the site.

15. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Roofd about the site. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer these terms. We may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganization of Roofd.
